In this edition of Investment News TV, we sat down with Tom Ruggie, founder and CEO of Destiny Wealth Partners, to discuss the firm’s recent recognition as the RIA Team of the Year (10 Advisors or more) at the inaugural Investment News Awards. This prestigious honor highlights the firm’s commitment to delivering tailored wealth management solutions and fostering a client-centric approach.

When asked about the significance of the award, Ruggie reflected on the journey that led to this moment. “It was an amazing feeling... extremely humbling... this could be the pinnacle of my career,” he said. He attributed the success to three key pillars: the client, the team, and family. “It’s not just about money; it’s about having an impact on clients’ lives,” Ruggie explained. His philosophy is simple yet powerful—always do the right thing for the client.

A cornerstone of Destiny Wealth Partners’ success is its focus on working with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Ruggie shared that the firm’s tailored approach resonates with clients who, like him, are entrepreneurially driven and share similar goals and challenges. “I am my ideal client,” Ruggie noted. “Knowing what I know, if I were you, this is what I would do.”

Innovation and staying ahead of the curve have been key to Destiny Wealth Partners’ continued growth. “One of our core values is no complacency... we have no complacency,” Ruggie emphasized. From early adoption of fee-based asset management to pioneering a multi-family office model, the firm has consistently been ahead of industry trends. “We just signed an agreement with Goldman Sachs to be custodian for our family office clients, which is another step in delivering exceptional service,” he added.

Looking ahead, Ruggie remains focused on evolving the firm’s family office services while maintaining its high standards in wealth management. “We surpassed a billion dollars last year, which was a huge goal for us, but we’re not stopping there. We’re constantly working to improve our offerings and ensure we stay ahead of the curve,” he said.
