GLG Partners hires Brahim from Goldman

London-based hedge fund taps emerging markets expert to run a $1.2 billion special situations fund.

GLG Partners LP, a London-based hedge fund, has hired Driss Ben-Brahim, a veteran of the Goldman Sachs Group Inc., to run its $1.2 billion emerging markets special situations fund. Mr. Ben-Brahim has worked in the London office of New York-based Goldman Sachs for the last 15 years and currently helps oversee emerging-markets trading. He will replace Greg Coffey, who is leaving the firm in October. GLG managed $24.6 billion in assets of March 31.
