Robert Hordt

Bob is a Queens, N.Y. native but after graduating Rutgers University in New Jersey with a bachelor’s degree in Communications, I ended up spending most of my adult life in the Garden State. My first daily newspaper job was at the Gloucester County Times outside Philadelphia, but most of my career – 23 years – was spent at the Asbury Park Press at the Jersey Shore, first as a business reporter and later as business editor. I joined Crain’s New York Business as an assistant managing editor in 2007 and was promoted to managing editor the next year. I joined InvestmentNews in 2009 as an assistant managing editor in charge of special reports and was later promoted to deputy editor. I have three children and two grandchildren, play golf, run and cycle in organized road races.
