Validus Financial Associates, which oversaw approximately $800 million in assets at Lincoln Financial Group, has found a new home at LPL Financial, the firm announced Wednesday.

Validus also joined LPL Financial’s broker-dealer, RIA and custodial platforms.

The Peoria, Arizona-based firm is led by senior partners Ryan Kidd and Aaron Montez, who founded the firm in 2009.

Kidd started his career at Axa Advisors in 2005 and had been affiliated with Lincoln Financial since 2014, according to his BrokerCheck report. Montez has 23 years of experience and had been at Lincoln since 2014.

Montez says joining LPL will help them put clients first.

“We take into consideration what matters most for each client’s unique financial situation,” he said in a statement. “Following a fiduciary standard, we will act accordingly to provide clients with the utmost confidence that they are on the right track toward financial success. There is nothing we take more seriously than our reputation of integrity.”

The Validus team also say the switch to LPL allows them to grow their business and gives them an advantage in recruiting.

Kidd and Montez are joined by fellow partner Andy St. John, advisors Andrew Peronia, Andrew Tuell, Marcus Luckeneder, Sean Guill and Kurt Oswald, and four support staff members.

Kidd said their mission is to be a definitive resource to provide clients with a financial foundation that enables them to enjoy life now, knowing that their future is on the right course.

Kidd is the author of “The Art of Retiring Whole,” a nonfinancial guide to retiring with purpose, productivity and “endless possibilities."
