LPL Financial said Tuesday that Eric Gallinger, an advisor who managed $300 million in assets at Merrill Lynch, is joining LPL by affiliating with Stratos Wealth Partners, an LPL firm.

Gallinger, an Irvine, California-based advisor, had been affiliated with Merrill Lynch since 2013 and has 12 years of experience, according to his BrokerCheck report.

In a statement, Gallinger said he provides clients with “real-world strategies."

“We review for excessive risk and opportunities and adjust portfolios at the margins as we seek to preserve principal,” he said. “We strongly advise against undue risk. We never want the client to have to make the same money twice.”
