MassMutual has made a significant addition – or perhaps more accurately, a re-addition – to its advisory network in the Southwestern US as it welcomes a family-run high-net-worth team.

On Tuesday, the financial giant announced the return of Brezden Wealth Advisors to its broker-dealer network of advisors. The BWA team, led by veteran founder Joe Brezden, regjoins MassMutual's Capstone Partners agency in Southern California after more than two decades.

According to his BrokerCheck profile, Joe Brezden was previously affiliated with MassMutual's broker-dealer division, MML Investor Services, from 1986 until 2000. Most recently, he was registered as an investment advisor and broker with Osaic.

MassMutual’s Capstone Partners agency is part of a larger network of over 6,500 financial professionals. MML Investors Services had $245 billion in client assets as of the end of 2023, with $72.8 billion in RIA assets according to its latest Form ADV.

Along with his son Michael Brezden and practice manager Sandy Poznoski, the seasoned advisor offers a range of services tailored to business owners with personal net worths of $25 million to over $250 million. Their expertise spans investment, estate, financial independence, and business growth and exit planning.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome the BWA team to the Capstone family,” Van Hess, managing partner of Capstone Partners, said in a statement Tuesday. “The team’s deep expertise and groundbreaking work in the wealth advisory and planning space will strengthen our foundation and drive increased client value and new areas of growth in the business owner marketplace.”

Vaughn Bowman, head of wealth management at MassMutual, highlighted the appeal MassMutual holds for firms like BWA.

“Wealth advisors looking to take their business to the next level with access to extensive protection and investment products, as well as robust resources, are drawn to MassMutual,” he said. “Advisors and their clients can place their trust in MassMutual and the company’s financial strength and consistency in delivering enduring value.”
