After a short hiatus, Brian Stimpfl, former longtime TD Ameritrade executive, has landed at Actifi Inc. The latter firm put out a prepared statement yesterday announcing Mr. Stimpfl's arrival. He will serve as senior vice president of Relationship Management, with responsibility “for continuing ActiFi's global growth strategy,” according to the announcement. For those unfamiliar with it, Actifi is a developer of practice management software for the financial services industry. Mr. Stimpfl is no stranger to the company, TD Ameritrade Institutional has partnered on at least two projects I'm aware of; most recently in 2009 to build a web-based tool designed to help potential breakaway brokers decide whether to join or start a registered investment advisory firm. A better known project was launched the year before called the TD Ameritrade Roadmap, which is a strategic planning software tool meant to help registered investment advisory firms build plans to help grow their businesses. "Brian has built an impeccable reputation in the financial services industry over the past 18 years, and he is a recognized expert at knowing how a financial services institution can best support and grow its advisor client base," wrote ActiFi chief executive Spenser Segal in a statement. "His extensive knowledge on the inner-workings of both enterprise and advisory firms will help us further our goals faster, and most important, he will provide tremendous value to ActiFi's existing and future clients." For more information, including a more lengthy bio of Mr. Stimpl visit ActiFi online.
