AMVESCAP profits hike 27.1%

London-based AMVESCAP PLC reported that operating profit increased by 27.1% for the quarter to $237.2 million, from $186.6 million in the same quarter last year.

London-based AMVESCAP PLC reported that operating profit increased by 27.1% for the quarter to $237.2 million, from $186.6 million in the same quarter last year. Net revenues for the quarter were $670.7 million from $584.1 million in the year-ago period. Diluted earnings per share was $0.19 and operating profit decreased 5.2% from the three months ended Dec. 31, 2006. Global investment manager AMVESCAP operates under the AIM, INVESCO, AIM Trimark, Atlantic Trust, Invesco Perpetual, PowerShares and WL Ross brands.
