Compass Financial Resources, an Olathe, Kan.-based broker-dealer whose 10 advisers manage $340 million in client assets, has affiliated its office of supervisory jurisdiction with Securities America. Compass, which has offices in Hutchinson, Kan., and Lincoln, Neb., has a 10-employee support staff and was previously affiliated with National Planning Corp. Its president, Russ Lane, also heads Ameritime, a registered investment adviser that provides Kansas School District employees and administrators with information and guidance regarding the state's pension system. (More: InvestmentNews Advisers on the Move database) Mr. Lane said the move to Securities America was based on the current "chaos" in financial services and the desire to find "a steady anchor so we can continue to grow and work with clients in a stable environment."
