The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. has barred former Merrill Lynch broker Joseph Clottey for failure to provide information it requested and for failing to take part in a Finra hearing. Mr. Clottey, who is not now associated with a securities firm, was terminated by Merrill Lynch in July 2016 for "making incomplete entries to an internal tracking system of client opportunities, resulting in otherwise unearned compensation," according to Finra's BrokerCheck. Mr. Clottey, who worked at the Merrill Lynch office in Loganville, Ga., began his securities career in 1999 at Investors Associates. He worked at eight firms before joining Merrill Lynch in 2014.
