After his first defeat in Iowa as a presidential candidate, Donald Trump is back on the campaign trail in New Hampshire, urging voters to "Get out of bed and vote."
At the Iowa caucus last week, Mr. Trump came in second, behind Ted Cruz.
InvestmentNews surveyed 2,072 financial advisers, and 23% of them support Donald Trump for a number of reasons.
When asked about why they favor Mr. Trump, a large portion of advisers say they like that he is "not a career politician," and that he is a "successful businessman” who may "bring positive changes" to the United States. “Making sure American is great again” also was a popular reason for Mr. Trump's support, according to 346 comments from advisers.

Among the 292 comments from advisers, 151 mentioned "experienced" as their main reason vote for Hillary Clinton. Advisers detailed how her experience as first lady, senator and secretary of state make her the "most qualified" candidate. Other advisers said Ms. Clinton is the candidate "who understands the role of government and could get things done that are right for the country as a whole."

The reason advisers vote for Marco Rubio are diverse. Many advisers said Marco Rubio has the best chance “for a Republican to win" and "beating Hillary” was another reason. A big portion of advisers also said he is the "only solid conservative." Some advisers were more blunt and said Mr. Rubio is the best candidate because he is "not crazy."

A landslide amount of advisers chose Ted Cruz because he is the most "conservative” candidate who upheld "Christian values." Among 158 responses
InvestmentNews got from advisers, "conservative" was mentioned 54 times. Many advisers also point out that Mr. Cruz is a true "Constitutionalist," and in fact six advisers specifically use the phrase "conservative Constitutionalist."

Bernie Sanders' appeal to advisers come from being the most "trustworthy" and "honest" candidate. A few advisers said "Trump scares me and Hillary Clinton I don't trust," but Mr. Sanders "appears to be honest on the issues." Also, 14 advisers said they chose Mr. Sanders because he "most associated with my views," especially on “universal health care" and the reinstatement of Dodd-Frank.
