Securian loses $700 million indie to Commonwealth

Integrated Equity Management, an independent firm managing $700 million in Bloomington, Minn., has switched its broker-dealer affiliation from Securian Financial Services to Commonwealth Financial Network. The firm, headed by Ted Smith, is 35 years old and has approximately 700 clients. Mr. Smith began his securities career in 1980 at Integrated Resources, and was affiliated with several firms before joining with a predecessor of Securian in 1992.
