Lieberman named CEO of Hartford Life Ltd.

The Hartford (Conn.) Financial Services Inc. today appointed Marc Lieberman president and chief executive of Hartford Life Ltd. Hartford Life, the insurer’s European unit, is based in Dublin, Ireland. In Mr. Lieberman’s new position, he will handle Hartford Life’s strategic direction and general management. He will report to Peter Smyth, executive vice president of The Hartford’s international markets group in the company’s U.S. headquarters. Mr. Lieberman replaces Michael Kalen, who will return to the United States as senior vice president of finance. Mr. Kalen will stay in Europe until Sept. 1 to ease the transition. Upon returning to the States he will report to Liz Zlatkus, The Hartford’s finance chief.
