Vanguard adds adviser to two funds

Baillie Gifford Overseas will be added as an adviser to its $6.9 billion Global Equity Fund and the $980 million Growth Equity Fund.

The Vanguard Group Inc. said today that Baillie Gifford Overseas Ltd. will be added as an adviser to the $6.9 billion Vanguard Global Equity Fund (VHGEX) and the $980 million Vanguard Growth Equity Fund (VGEQX). Baillie Gifford, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, has advised portions of Vanguard’s International Growth Fund (VWIGX) and Variable Insurance Fund (VVIF) since 2003. Fourteen of Vanguard’s 31 actively managed stock funds use multiple managers. Vanguard uses 24 external advisory firms worldwide that manage about $357 billion. Vanguard of Malvern, Pa., manages nearly $1.25 trillion in assets.
