Guest Bio:

Ben Carlson CFA serves as the Director of Institutional Asset Management at Ritholtz Wealth Management. Mr. Carlson is responsible for working directly with institutional investors and developing portfolio solutions that address their needs, as well as leveraging and contributing to the firm's internal research program. Prior to this, he was a part of the investment team that managed the endowment fund for the Van Andel Institute. Mr. Carlson previously worked for an institutional investment consulting firm managing portfolios for various endowments, foundations and pension plans.

He is the author of the books A Wealth of Common Sense: Why Simplicity Trumps Complexity in Any Investment Plan and Organizational Alpha: How to Add Value in Institutional Asset Management.

In 2017, he was named to the InvestmentNews 40 Under 40 list of top financial advisors.

Mr. Carlson is a CFA charterholder. He earned an MBA from Grand Valley State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Hope College.
