Cetera adds $1B bank wealth platform

Honolulu-based American Savings Banks has 51 branches throughout Hawaii

American Savings Bank, based in Honolulu, is moving its wealth management program to the broker-dealer unit of Cetera Financial Group that specializes in banks and credit unions. With approximately $6.1 billion in assets and 51 branches across Hawaii, American Savings manages approximately $1 billion of investment assets in its wealth management unit. Transition to the new relationship, which the bank said would permit more holistic client offerings, is expected is be completed in April. Cetera markets its self-clearing broker-dealer that serves banks and credit unions as the Cetera Financial Group.
