E.F. Hutton Group, the long-dormant brokerage firm that recently announced its relaunch, announced today that Jamie Price has joined its board of directors
Mr. Price, 52, will be a member of the board of the holding company and of E.F. Hutton & Co., its primary operating unit. He begun his career in financial services at E.F. Hutton and went on to lead UBS Wealth Management Advisor Group Americas' financial advisory business.
In April, a group of E.F. Hutton alumni announced plans to resurrect the venerable brokerage firm, which is best known for its famous advertising slogan, "When E.F. Hutton talks, people listen."
The effort is being led by chief executive Frank Campanale, who was chief executive of the Smith Barney Consulting Group, a successor to Hutton's pioneering money management unit.
Christopher Daniels, a former investment banker at E.F. Hutton, is leading the firm's investment banking group and John Lohr, former general counsel at Hutton's consulting group, is the new firm's top attorney.
Prior to joining UBS in 2002, Mr. Price served as president and chief operating officer of Prudential Securities' brokerage unit. In 2002, Prudential Securities merged with Wachovia Corp. and then became part of Wells Fargo & Co. in 2010. Mr. Price began his career at E.F. Hutton as financial adviser and management training associate.
Following E.F. Hutton's merger with Shearson, Mr. Price was responsible for advanced training for financial advisers and then became a branch manager.
In 2011, Mr. Price was named chief operating officer of 1-800-DOCTORS, a consumer physician finder and health care concierge service.
