Former Fed official Hayley Boesky signs on at Bank of America

Ms. Boesky will work on developing business with institutional investors and strengthening the bank's relationships with clients

Bank of America Corp. today announced that Hayley Boesky, a former senior officer and director of market analysis at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, will join Bank of America Merrill Lynch as vice chairman of global markets. In this newly created role, Ms. Boesky, 43, will work on developing business with institutional investors and strengthening the bank’s relationships with clients. She is to join the company in early April. At the New York Fed, Ms. Boesky was responsible for cross-market monitoring, analytical development, and buy-side analysis and relationship management. Earlier in her career, she was a director of relative value and derivatives at a hedge fund and was also the chief U.S. interest rate product strategist at Goldman Sachs & Co. She holds a doctorate degree in astrophysics from Columbia University. Ms. Boesky’s “quantitative background, coupled with her direct experience in the Federal Reserve's market surveillance and market functioning programs, will enhance our dialogue with clients as well as our ability to respond to future market events," Tom Montag, president of global banking and markets, said in a press release. Ms. Boesky will report both to Bryan Weadock, co-head of global fixed income, currencies and commodities sales, and Mike Joo, chief operating officer, global markets. She will be based in New York.
