Morningstar Indexes has named Thomas Kuh as its global head of ESG strategy, reporting to Rolf Agather, the group’s global head of research and product.

Kuh “will help further accelerate sustainable investment initiatives” for the global index provider, the company said in a release.

With more than 30 years of experience in indexing and sustainable investing, Kuh most recently was president of Benchmark ESG Consulting, and head of index at Truvalue Labs.

Earlier he served as managing director of indexes at KLD Research & Analytics, as head of indexes at RiskMetrics Group prior to its acquisition by MSCI, and then as executive director of ESG indexes at MSCI, where he led and grew the ESG index business.

Kuh also serves as an advisory board member at the Journal of Impact & ESG Investing.
