Morgan Stanley's Tom Nides tapped as next SIFMA chairman

Tom Nides, chief administrative officer at Morgan Stanley & Co., has been elected chairman of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association for 2010, the board of directors announced today. John Taft, president and CEO of RBC Wealth Management, will serve as its chairman-elect. Bernard B. Beal, chief executive of M.R. Beal & Co., was named vice chairman, and Blythe Masters, global head of commodities at JPMorgan Chase & Co. — and SIFMA's current chairman — will serve as the trade group's chairman emeritus. Alexandra Lebenthal, president and chief executive of Lebenthal & Co. was elected SIFMA's treasurer.
