Hybrid RIA managing $2.2 billion in client assets joins Securities America from LPL Financial

A hybrid RIA managing $2.2 billion of client assets has switched broker-dealers, moving from LPL Financial to Securities America. WealthPLAN Partners, co-founded by Brent O'Mara and Todd Feltz, has 28 advisers and was previously affiliated with LPL Financial for 27 years before jumping to Securities America, according to a statement. (More: See all the latest moves in the InvestmentNews Advisers on the Move database) Mr. O'Mara believed that changing the broker-dealer platforms will allow the firm to be a true hybrid RIA. “Given the changing industry landscape, we felt this new structure allows our firm to remain a true hybrid RIA, which we believe is the best platform for independent financial advisers,” said Mr. O'Mara in the statement. “This new solution provides advisers the support and services they need, while allowing them to maintain their independence and autonomy.”
