An investment advisor who managed $250 million in client assets at Asset Management Group is joining Stratos Wealth Advisors, the firm announced Wednesday.

Robert Hamer was a managing director at Northbrook, Illinois-based Asset Management Group, where he had worked since 2016. Earlier, Hamer was a founding partner of Sunset Partners Capital Management, where he served as chief investment officer.

"After spending decades in this industry, I knew exactly what I needed to better serve my clients, and after considering my options, Stratos proved to be the obvious choice,” Hamer said in a statement.

"Bob has had an extraordinary career spanning over 40 years — serving retail and institutional clients — and we are so pleased he has chosen to affiliate with us," Robert Samson, Stratos managing director in Chicago, said in the statement.

Beachwood, Ohio-based Stratos Wealth Advisors is a registered investment advisor that manages more than $3 billion in advisory assets.
